Meet Renly!
After getting a clean bill of health at the vet today (some tests pending) and learning that she hasn't been chipped, we're keeping the dog!
She was dumped from a car about a block from my house on Thursday evening. My beau and I spent the weekend thinking about whether or not we could keep her.
She is about a year and a half old, and apparently all pitbull. The scars on her side
& leg are healing well--according to the vet, they are in fact dog bites and she was probably used as a bait dog for other fighting pits.
She's pretty well socialized and just LOVES people. She's taken a couple of trips to campus already as well as Overton Park dog park. A little more training can't hurt, though.
Thanks again to Noa Eason, who took care of her for a couple of days while Anthony and I were trying to figure out if we could keep her. For the moment, Renly is living with Anthony, but comes down the block to see me too.
We named her Renly after the far-too-short-lived character in Game of Thrones. We tossed around a number of other possible names, mostly from GoT (including Nymeria, which is just ridiculous) before settling.

Just one of the games we played at the birthday party. Others were "Catch me if you can", "Sit, Stay" and "Bad Dog!".

I make one move toward the apple tree and Ziggy knows the game is on.
