Tonight I went to take pictures of some puppies that have had a rough go of it in their short lives so far.
These puppies were rescued from a rural shelter that had no heat. Some of the puppies had frozen to death, and a call for help was put out to save the ones that were still alive. The Cincinnati HART group sent a team up to pick them up and thanks to a couple of very dedicated volunteers, the puppies are now safely at a vet where they are in quarrantine and receiving the care they need. They'll be sent out into foster homes when they're out of quarrantine.
I took the pics so that we could send them to the HART foster care distribution list.
You can help their cause by helping your local animal rescue team!
All these little sqirmy cuties will be looking for homes soon, once they're out of the vet.

So, I was walking along with some friends when I came across this little puppy sleeping peacefully with the sun to it's back. Isn't it cute? There are many strays in India and well they mate and that results in stray puppies and then they mate and... well, you get the idea.
I guess it's a new addition to my growing collection of animal photos. Hope you guys like it.

335/365 - A New Camera
Today. I did it! I finally pulled the trigger on a new camera, and this here is my friend Boo trying to take it from me. Boo is a 5 month old pomeranian, and as you can see, he is just a little bit cute. Boo and I have been planning on getting a new camera for some time now. I knew we needed an upgrade, but I wanted to wait for Nikon's latest. Unfortunately, that camera is the Nikon D7000 and it isn't shipping from most stores until mid november and that just wouldn't cut it for Boo and I. After all, I have been getting really serious with this photography thing, and Boo is still teething so he needs the finest camera strap that Nikon makes. Most importantly is the fact that I had ben planning a road trip for mid-october and I needed the new camera for it. We decided to go a step beyond the D7000 (a couple steps, really) and get the D700 (Nikon needs to work on their naming, I know.). I have had many hobbies over the years, and not until now have I been able to really make a huge financial investment in one of them. One great thing about photography as a hobby is that you produce a tangible elment - photos - which you will have forever. You can't say that about a musical instrument, sports, knitting, or crack. That combined with the fact that I really enjoy taking pictures, and I am an extreme tech junkie made getting this camera the right decision for me. So that leads me to...
The Trip
I just returned from a 10 day excursion that covered 7 US states (Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and South Dakota) and 3 Canadian Provinces (Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Colombia - not to be confused with South American Colombia). Those of you that are my facebook friends may have already seen a taste of what is to come here on project 365. SIDE NOTE: friend me on facebook, I promise I won't spam you with annoying fan page requests or event invites. I won't drop any huge four square or farmville deuces all over your news feed either. Anyways, I am still in awe over some of the amazing things that I saw on this trip, and I can't wait to share them with you here on project 365. Stay tuned to the blog over the course of the coming weeks. It's gonna be AWESOME!
