Another cute puppy picture, still taken in the garden of my Bavarian friend! Little doggies are curious and play with everything!

Ginger goes out, Mandy comes in. Both are feigning indifference, but secretly I think Ginger is relieved at not having to tramp around anymore so I can get the perfect photo, and Mandy is looking forward to more attention - she's been rather neglected since the puppies came, I'm afraid!

I've loved taking pictures of Ginger; she's a grand old girl. Most of my favorite photos from this year are of Ginger, as she is so photogenic. Thanks, Ginger, for being so patient!

2010 in review, part 2:

I wanted to do Ginger as my first project, since she was nine years old. Well, a year later, she's turned a decade old, and she's still going strong! She’s the only one not causing trouble these days – she just lives her life and tries to stay out of the way of the puppies! Mandy, on the other hand, was diagnosed with cancer five months ago – so 2011 is definitely her year!

Throughout this project I’ve dealt with light (still the bane of my existence!), with smelly dogs, and with heat. The most popular photo on my photostream is Ginger’s - actually eight of my top ten are!

I hope the coming year won’t be too boring – two black dogs at once instead of one black dog and Ginger – but Cody and Mandy both deserve the spotlight this year.

So here’s to another fun year of taking lots of photos of our dogs!

P.S. This is the only oak tree on our property. When we first moved into this house, I was 13 - and I could almost look over the top of it!

All done

She is all done, and happy.

We had to coax her out to go potty, but she was happy to run out the yard really quick.

She's got food and water close and she's finally able to sleep some. You can see cardboard behind her in this picture.. I took a big box and cut a short so it was open.. and wrapped it around the back of the puppy bed, to give it more of a "den" feel.. she was happier after I did that and finally put her head down and closed her eyes.

Ginger doesn't get up on my bed too often, but she's always happy to oblige if she's invited up. She generally tends to lie around a lot - she likes to stay out of everybody's way. Often you'll find her underneath the dining room table or against the couch in the living room, curled up in a little ball. She can get wound up when she wants to, though...

Really didn't want to push this week's photo to next week, so I just snapped this one quickly. Heavily edited to make it look decent - I don't think I was very successful, though. Hopefully this coming week will be less crazy and I'll be able to spend some time on getting a good picture.

I do intend to get Week 7's picture of the puppies taken tomorrow - I have something very specific and purposeful in mind. Then the puppies' Week 8 photo, hopefully, will follow soon after.
