Litter of Kittens 2877

Better to recycle these kittens than throw them in the trash!
Actually, they appeared in this trash can at work one morning, probably moved there by their mom, who hasn't been seen. There are five in this picture, then later we found a total of seven! Three got adopted already and the other four are happily mooching off several of us at work.

When I got Martha and Molly - 10 years ago now - I didn't have a digital camera. Therefore the only kitten pictures I have of them are proper printed ones. I also only had a very cheap camera and was pretty awful at taking photos. So, all that combined, what I've got in photographic format is very poor!
However, I searched through and found a couple that are better than awful and thought I would share.
Here you see Martha on the left as you look and Molly on the right. It's interesting to see that Martha was bigger than Molly at that time whereas now Molly is quite a lot bigger than Martha!

This kitty is FREE TO A GOOD HOME!! We found him (or her??) in the ditch outside Amber and Nathan's house last week, skinny and afraid. Since they're renting their house, and I'm terribly allergic, he can't stay with either of us.
That means we need YOU! If you live in North Alabama and need the cutest kitten in the WORLD, please let me know and I'll get him to you.
He's been living in my garage this week eating lots, getting bigger, and doing very well. He's probably the smartest cat ever, as he learned how to use a litter box litterally minutes after we put it in with him. Since he's had the box, he's not made one mess on the floor.
Please thinking about giving this little guy a loving home, if you're able. If you know someone else who is looking for a kitty, please pass along the news.

Stray Kitten

This beautiful little cat was a visitor at our house in October. She was a stray the students found at retreat. The camp owner assured me that she was a stray and, knowing a bleeding heart when he saw one, added that she probably would not survive the winter if she did not find a home. The students couldn't take her home on the bus, but I had driven my car to camp, so I took her home to live with me until a line-up of volunteer potential cat-owners could check with mom and dad for permission to add her to the family. We had no trouble finding her a home. But while she stayed with us, I took pictures. Of course.
I realize I have been lax in my duties and not posted kitten pictures in a while. Adventure Cat Exie in her dormant state:

When I saw this picture on Flickr, my first thought was how great it would be to draw this as my warm-up sketch. I wish I hadn't, because this one is a bit to hard for my comfort level. I tried anyway and 1 hour and 45 minutes later I got this.
I think it's a good approximation of what I felt when I saw this picture. There are still some things wrong with it, but since it's a warm-up sketch, I'm not going to correct those mistakes.
Baby steps, baby steps. I'm sure one day I can create an awesome drawing of two cats playing. First I have to learn the rules of the game, though.

This is our new baby Manx kitten! The foster mom named him Sherman -- not sure yet if the name will stick, but it might. Here he's in our walk-in closet, hiding. He is still shy and hides when I try to take his picture.

Originally, this picture was too dark and grainy for my taste, but I managed to salvage the cuteness by scaling it from the original 12 Megapixels down to the Nokia Internet Tablet wallpaper resolution of 800x480 (also the first generation Asus Eee PC's native resolution). Of course, that only helped with the grain.
I also did some masking, blurring, and color adjustment.
